In a convergence of minds, stories, and visions, we embark on a journey into new realities — RiT (lands) in Marseille.

Matadero Madrid, center of contemporary creations belonging to Madrid City Council’s Department of Culture, has presented the line-up for the sixth year of L.E.V. Matadero. The Festival of Visual Electronics and Extended Realities, arranged by Matadero Madrid and curated by L.E.V. (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual), will take place from September 18 to 22 2024.

In order to dive deeper into the state-of-the-art tools that allow creators to build astonishing virtual worlds, L.E.V. Matadero will host the hackaton Avatar VR Sculpting run by Rick Treweek, also known as MetaRick.

The BETACAMP HIGHLIGHT – WE ARE THE A.I. RESYNTHESIZERS project was developed as part of BETACAMP RiT, a LEV Festival and iMAL event celebrating the diversity of extended realities, such as augmented reality, virtual reality and the metaverse.

Extended Realities, including AR, VR, and the metaverse, span a rich history of diverse tools and experiences. LEV Festival (Spain) and iMAL (Belgium) present BetaCamp XR on July 4-6, 2024, celebrating this diversity and XR technologies’ history. The event features project showcases, discussions, and virtual tours, inviting communities and curious individuals to explore the future of Extended Realities.

Two days of professional meetings around the match of live performance and digital experiences – co-organized by our partner Dark Euphoria together with le Grenier à Sel, la Villa Créative / Université d’Avignon and la French Tech Grande Provence. As part of the Festival d’Avignon.

The project has used extended realities to achieve an interesting challenge: to help develop a different narrative of the territory; one that unveils in the natural landscape a potential for a more scientific look, for a more creative mindset and for all possible futures that these local students have in their hands. A multiverse of possible realities that depend very much on them.

The 7th edition of Immersity took place on 27 and 28 March 2024 and brought together in Angoulême, at the invitation of the Pôle Image Magelis, all the professionals exploring new forms of immersive storytelling. Writers, directors, technicians and producers came together for case studies and conferences.

Virtual Reality experiences are proliferating in cultural venues – festivals, museums, cinemas – offering a growing diversity of content and ways of experiencing these moments spent with a headset on. The medium is evolving rapidly, and both creators and distributors are still lacking the codes to make VR experiences accessible to as many people as possible, and to make them easier to use so that users can enjoy experiences in the best possible conditions.

L.E.V. Festival (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual), after revealing the line-up of live shows and audiovisual & performative installations, announces the rest of activities for its 18th edition: four experiences around extended realities, in a collaboration with Realities in Transition, which include the two VR works Red Tail and Uncanny Alley; the AR experience Slow Walker, and a workshop for teenagers about Metaverses and musical creation with PatchXR.
